Disney earned its reputation by creating lovable, iconic characters over the past century. But many fans don’t realise that in the films, Disney characters are assigned a certain age, too.  A character’s age dictates how it looks, acts, dresses, and more. But for Disney, age isn’t always what it seems.

Everybody knows that most small children have a seriously skewed perception of age. For instance, a 3-year old might say that a 16-year-old is a fully grown up, and a 45-year-old is like, really old. When it comes to Disney, most famous characters are actually much younger than we might recall, because they appear older when presented to a young audience.
