A bit of background on the singer
The star was born on the 24th of July in 1990, which currently makes him 31 years old. He is a British singer and sing writer and has had huge success with his band.
Jay McGuiness grew up alongside his large family in Newars, Nottinghamshire. He has a twin brother named Thomas and three other siblings. The singer went to All Saints RC School, Mansfield.
How Jay McGuiness came to be a member of The Wanted
The band The Wanted had already formed before the singer joined them. He became a member back in 2010, joining fellow ban mates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes.
The singer revealed that he had googled auditions as he waited for opportunities to bring his passion for performance to fruition. Thankfully, his Google searches provided the goods and he successfully landed himself two auditions. Perhaps unexpectedly on was for a circus, and of course – the other one was an audition for the band The Wanted.
His love of the arts
McGuiness didn’t get to where he was by chance. From being just a tiny child his passion was to perform and at the young age of 12, he attended the Charlotte Hamilton School of Dance in Newark. This only made his passion grow and as he got older his dream to perform for a living grew stronger. So, he then went on to join the prestigious Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in Carlton near Nottingham.

Jay McGuiness’s other escapades
Jay McGuiness has also dabbled in TV and has taken part in the popular British TV show Strictly Come Dancing. It was back in 2015, the 13th series of the show, and the singer was partners with Aliona Valani. The pair stormed to victory and one of their dances has gone down in Strictly history as being one of the best dances of all time on the show.
The dance show isn’t the only TV show Jay McGuiness has taken part in. In 2017 The Wanted band member took part in the show alongside former bandmate Siva Kaneswaran. AND, Celebrity Hunted became the second show he triumphed in as he and his partner won the show by managing to evade capture from the hunters.
Jay McGuiness’s relationships
As of 2021, the pop icon is currently single. Despite being a singer and living the life of fame he manages to keep his private life and personal relationships very under the radar.
So, despite the fact we know Jay has had one previous relationship, the details are unknown. But, as of today, he is no longer in a relationship. The singer remains focused and dedicated to his work and the band.

It will come as no surprise that the singer must be worth a substantial amount. After all, The Wanted has had several hits and albums, and sell-out tours. Top hits that fans particularly love include Glad You Came, Chasing the Sun, I found You and We Own the Night.
