Since 2005, YouTube has been a platform for young talents to share their hobbies and passions – from makeup to gaming and everything in between. More recently, it has become one of the most powerful launchpads for celebrity status (yes, it even rivals Love Island!).

YouTube has given birth to these modern ‘celebs’ – the Joe Suggs, the Zoellas, the Meredith Fosters – that we so often (unrealistically) idolise online. And people have seen the success (and money) YouTube has brought to these stars and jumped straight on the bandwagon hoping to get a slice of the action.

And let’s be honest, being a ‘YouTuber’ or ‘social media influencer’ is every young person’s dream job. Receiving new releases from your favourite brands? Getting whisked away to luxury hotels? Sampling all the latest products? Yes, please!
