She is the face of daytime TV, but now much is Lorraine Kelly’s net worth? Let’s take a look at her television career and see how she became so successful…

Lorraine Kelly’s net worth has grown over the years after she began her career in the 1980s. She has worked on copious TV shows and starred on our TV screens frequently, which has made her a familiar face in the TV world. From starting off working in the BBC to having her own show on ITV, Lorraine Kelly’s net worth has been built from various TV achievements in over 30 years.

    Where It All Began

Lorraine Kelly was born in Glasgow in 1959 and began her television career in her twenties. This was after she began working for her local newspaper, the East Kilbride News. She then began working for the BBC and made her first television appearance in the 1980s. That was the start of many! From there, she also went on to meet her husband, Steve Smith, and have her daughter, Rosie. Lorraine Kelly’s net worth then began to grow and grow as her face was known all across the UK.

@ZSLLondonZoo – where we love visiting my namesake, Lorraine the penguin – has had to close again as part of the second nationwide lockdown. As an international conservation charity, their funds comes from ticket sales, which at the moment are zero – but hardworking staff are still caring for and feeding all the animals we saw. They’re asking for all of us to help through a donation at www.zsl.org/donate, buying a gift ticket for a future visit, becoming a member, or just spreading the word. #londonzoo

    Through The Years

Since her career began in the 80s, Lorraine has had many different shows and mainly worked on ITV. With the amount of publicity gained from the multitude of shows, it’s no wonder Lorraine Kelly’s net worth has been growing.

From 2004, Lorraine has presented This Morning with Philip Schofield.  Since then, she has broadcasted her own TV show called Lorraine from 2010. She has also presented GMTV and Daybreak through the years. In 2010, the TV presenter also launched her own TV show called Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge starring Emma Chawner  who is best known for her unsuccessful X-Factor audition. At the BAFTA Awards in 2014, the TV presenter was awarded a Scottish BAFTA for her 30 year TV career, which is a pretty good achievement! More recently, she has hosted Wedding Day Winners with Rob Beckett on BBC One. Not only has she been on TV, but Lorraine has also written for The Sun and The Sunday Post. With her well known name circulating all of these different TV channels, it’s not a surprise that Lorraine Kelly’s net worth has grown largely.

Come on Lorraine, we would love to see you hit the dance floor!

Although we might not see her dancing on our screens, Lorraine Kelly’s net worth will continue to grow on her new ventures, as she takes on new shows and keeps her social media presence. We’re definitely excited to see what is next!

    Lorraine’s Tax Case in 2019

Lorraine Kelly’s Net Worth became a topic of interest in 2019 surrounding a 1.2 million tax battle against HMRC. She was facing a tax bill of almost £900,000 in income tax and over £300,000 in national insurance. This stemmed from HMRC claiming she was an employee of ITV. Then consequently, that her firm ‘Albatel’ was a way of tax evasion. However, the tax bill was eventually overturned by the judge.

The firm accounts can give us a clue about Lorraine Kelly’s net worth…

They show that last year ‘Albatel’ made a profit of almost £500,000 with assets of £3,680,403, The Times reports. These included more than £2.3m in an account, more than £1m owed by debtors and an investment portfolio of over £230,000.

    She told The Times:

The Times: “Oh Jeez, that’s very complicated,

“It was to do with what [tax] category you’re in and whether you’re an entertainer or a presenter or a contributor. And I’m considered to be an entertainer.

“I always think of myself as a little bit on the edges, and that was picked up on and that’s fine.”

At least that’s all cleared up now, and Lorraine Kelly’s net worth stays unaffected!
