Strictly WILL Be Airing This Year, But Huge Changes Expected

Covid might have taken our holidays, sport and soaps but postponing Strictly Come Dancing would have been the final nail in the coffin for 2020.

Luckily, the BBC won’t be confiscating the Glitterball Trophy after all, as they are doing all they can to devise the right format whilst adhering to the social distancing rules.

Producers have conceived 100 different formats to ensure that the consistently-changing Coronavirus rules are met.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait a few more weeks to for the contest commencement as it will now start in October; a few weeks later than usual. That also means the series will be shorter and the number of celebrities partaking will be reduced.

    A BBC source said:

“Preparing for this year’s show is a huge headache. The goalposts keep moving, so the big decisions are being left to the last minute so we’re as up to date as possible.

“But any concrete things we can decide on now, we are doing. Making one hit series is hard enough. As things stand, we are having to plan for hundreds.

“The slightest change to the rules could have a massive impact on how the show is filmed.

“But everyone is determined to get this thing on screen and in a way that is as close to the normal version as possible.”
