“The big 50. I haven’t planned it yet but I think the celebrations will start this year and continue for 10 years. It’s a privilege to get old I think, so I’m going to celebrate it.”
She said it quite well. And she is looking happy and healthy as never before!

She strongly feels that climbing up the career ladder doesn’t exist for her anymore since she feels she had achieved all her work goals. Admittedly, she says luck played a part and she had great chances a lot of times.
“So the rest is now a bonus. I’m living on bonus coupons at the moment. And it’s a massive thing for me that I get to go home to my children every night. I have to work in London.”
So, What’s The Deal With Midlife Crisis? What Has She Done?
After ending her marriage with star Tom Ellis, Tamzin got into a relationship with her younger boyfriend Tom Child two years back. Tom Child is also an actor and is 21 years old younger than Tamzin.
They have been together since 2018 and apparently, Tamzin’s kids get along really well with Tom.
Quite expectedly, many are attributing her choice of a younger partner to midlife crisis. But, that isn’t quite the case.
“People think I’m having a midlife crisis, but actually, not all men want a younger woman.”
Naming Joan Collins, Sam-Taylor-Johnson and Helena who are coupled up with younger men, she is happy that she is in good company.
Fun Fact: Helena Bonham Carter is dating a younger guy with 21 years age gap, just like Tamzin!
Amazingly, Tom has been wonderful for Tamzin’s mental and physical health. Unfortunately, she complained that no one says anything about younger women and older men.
Another fun fact: Tom and Tamzin are often outdoors practising yoga, riding horse, and having fun!

“It does work. It’s about energy and about connection, I think. It doesn’t matter how much you fight it – there’s 20 years between us. He just must never shave the beard off because that would be horrific for me!”

Hailing from East London, Tamzin’s heritage can be traced to Italy since her mother is of Italian heritage. Her maternal great grandfather had a successful ice cream business in England after moving here.
The English actress and narrator got her break after playing Mel Owens (other remarkable characters include Minty Peterson, Ruby Allen, and Max Branning) in EastEnders from 1998 to 2002 and again from 2018 to 2019. Before EastEnders, she had acted in The Mystery of Dr Martinu, Men Behaving Badly, and The Bill.

Tamzin was married to actor Tom Ellis for eight long years before the couple separated in 2014.
Apparently, Tom cheated on her with a co-star while filming and Tamzin refused to stay married to him.
“I wouldn’t not be with my husband over a one-night stand is all I’ll say.”
Tamzin and her ex-husband Tom Ellis have two daughters together. Their elder daughter is Florence while the younger one is Marnie.
She Was Unhappy For A Very Long Time…But That Time Is Long Past Now!
After her divorce in 2014, Tamzin and her kids were happier than they were before.
The EastEnders actress shared that,
“I’m so happy. In fact, I’m happier now than I’ve been in a very long time.”
“I’m extremely proud of myself and my girls because we have an extra-special bond. We’re in a pretty amazing place, which is something I wouldn’t have been able to say three years ago.”
Interestingly, they now have a very uplifting and fun environment in their house. They love to dance and love is all around them. More interestingly, they have a mantra they often share with each other which is ‘Be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be’.
As a result, Tamzin is contented with her life as her work is steady and her children are happy that she would not be away for a long time for work.

Naturally, her priorities have shifted after she embraced motherhood. While she used to be focused in her career a few years back, her focus is now on her kids and being with them.
“Once you get into your 40s, you’re no longer leading-lady age. Generally, those roles get offered to women in their 20s and 30s. But as far as I’m concerned, my children are my priority, especially with them being the ages they are.”
In 2015, she decided to take a break for nine months to focus on motherhood. Although she had worries of falling off the radar, she took the risk.
There is a common belief that once an actor takes a break, it would be difficult to get back in. Hence, an actor should never say no. Well, Tamzin called it nonsense and went with taking a break.
She admitted to never regretting that decision since she spent a lot of time with her children during their formative years that shapes the rest of their lives and when they needed her the most.
