Knight Rider was one of the most iconic shows on our screens back in the 1980s.

The show’s offbeat premise, strange soundtrack, and David Hasselhoff’s perm that never lacked volume made it a winner.

The show Knight Rider a worthy pick to land on the TV in the ’80s. If it appeared on our screens any later than that, I don’t think it would have worked as well.

The show first debuted in 1982, and the show ran for four seasons, a grand total of 90 episodes. The end of the show saw a number of TV movies and very short-lived revivals.

But the Knight Rider franchise still continues to stay in topic, with rumours of another reboot or spin-off being made fairly regularly.

Here are 15 facts about Knight Rider.

    1. The Show Was a Cross Between Two Different Genres

When the idea and premise first popped into Glen A. Larson’s head, he had a totally different vision for it.

Back in the ’70s and ’80s, Larson managed to make a name for himself through the shows he created like Battlestar Galactica and Magnum P.I.

However, in 1982 one of his ideas hit the screen as Knight Rider. But the show was originally going to look very different from the TV classic we all became fond of.
