After attending Harvard-Westlake School and later New York University, Sebastian Spader started his career in the film industry. This is still a little bit older than the age that James Spader first pursued acting. In fact, he dropped out of school at 17 to move to New York and follow his dream.

Nevertheless, Sebastian Spader started getting jobs in camera and editorial and eventually became a film producer and director.

By 2013, though, Sebastian Spader was done with the film industry and decided to transition to real estate. This move actually makes more sense than you might think – his mother, Victoria, is also in the real estate business.

He joined The Agency RE as a realtor in March 2018 and immediately made his mark selling prime real estate all across Greater Los Angeles.

Well, she and James Spader met at a New York yoga studio where he was working in those early days of looking for acting work. They dated for two years before marrying in the late 1980s.

As we know, Sebastian Spader was born in 1989, and another son, Elijah, followed in 1992.

James and Victoria were married for a total of 17 years when they sadly filed for divorce in 2004.

We don’t know why the pair’s marriage broke down, and James Spader has refused to talk about the details in public. However, he did mention in one interview that he was working a fair bit in the early 2000s.

He said: “Most of the films I’ve made were because I’d run out of money. But I’d still be looking for the best film I could find at that time. I always tried not to have my career be too much of a burden to my children, but looking back, I think that was a mistake.”

However, James Spader quickly recovered from his divorce from Victoria Kheel. Though his and Victoria’s divorce was finalised in 2004, he actually started dating someone new in 2002.

While filming Alien Hunter, he met his co-star Leslie Stefanson – and it seems there was more than just a professional spark between them. Leslie is a model and actress who has starred in films like The General’s Daughter and Unbreakable.

However, she has since given up acting to become a full-time creative – a sculptor, to be exact.

They started dating pretty much as soon as filming ended, and are still together to this day. However, the two have never actually got married.

James also had a child with Leslie, Nathanael, a half-brother to Sebastian and Elijah show was born in 2008. The three of them live in chic Greenwich Village, in New York.

2008 also marked the beginning of James Spader stepping away from working on many projects – perhaps to focus more on his family life. While he does have long filming days for his hit NBC crime drama The Blacklist, he says that he takes a lot more time off than in the earlier days of his career.

“Here I am, acting way too much, once again but it’s more that I like living my life as much as I like working… Basically, I can consume just as much unemployment time as I can employment time.”

He’s also previously confirmed that he won’t be having any more children, saying: “I believe in a negative population growth. The other two were with another mother, so we have three boys that will replace all three of us.”
