In 2017, the entrepreneur broke up with his long-term girlfriend. And it seems that Steven thinks it’s his fault.
While he hasn’t revealed the identity of his ex, he spoke candidly about the breakdown of their relationship on his YouTube channel:
“I’ve just come out of a long-term relationship that’s lasted… well, in my mind it’s long-term because I’ve never had a relationship other than this one, for about a year.
That relationship was fantastic and all those things that relationships should be but unfortunately because of my lack of time and my lack of mental focus, and the amount of things I have competing for my attention every single day, that relationship fell apart.”

Podcasting Controversy
While Steven has continued to assert his career, it hasn’t stopped him getting caught up in controversy.
In his Diary of a CEO podcast, he was joined by Love Island influencer and PLT Creative Director Molly Mae Hague at the end of last year.
Molly’s comments about how “we all have the same 24 hours in a day” regardless of background has caused huge criticism from the public. She was trending at number one on Twitter, was splashed across multiple newspapers, and even some MPs weighed in.
The Love Island star had previously come under fire for her shock that her own staff had to work 12 hour shifts, and her garment workers were earning just £3.50 an hour.
Many commented on her privilege and “tone deaf” approach, but Steve Bartlett leapt to her defense.
The Dragon’s Den star tweeted:
“Molly Mae did an interview on my podcast, yesterday a soundbite from that interview went viral, she trended No.1 on Twitter, every newspaper covered it and MP’s weighed in.
‘I’ve had male guests say what she said. No one cared. But when Molly says it, she’s crucified? Crazy.”
