We have to admit- Leslie “Jake” Ryan from Hannah Montana stole our hearts back in the day.
Although he was eventually written out of the show (why cheat on Miley?!), actor Cody Linley has gone on to have a super successful career. And he’s appeared in a fair few shows you might recognise.
So where exactly is Cody Linley now?
Let’s catch up with the Hannah Montana star…
Hannah Montana
Before he started on Hannah Montana, Cody had already made his Disney channel debut. He’d appeared in That’s So Raven, and had a few film titles under his belt too. The actor had starred in everything from Miss Congeniality to Cheaper by the Dozen.
But as we know, it was his time on Hannah Montana that turned him into a star and global heartthrob.
Leslie “Jake” Ryan was Miley Stewart’s love interest from day one. While Miley struggled to keep her alter ego a secret, she also grappled with the same struggles most teenage girls face- her relationships!

Her romance with Jake kept fans hooked, and it was something of an emotional rollercoaster. There was his arrogant personality, his first kiss with Miley, to that dreaded cheating scandal. Not to mention the love triangle that developed between Jake, Miley, and Jesse…
But the character of Jake Ryan wasn’t destined to stay. He was written out of the show after three seasons.
So what does actor Cody Linley make of his time on the show? Well, it seems he still thinks that Jake and Miley were destined to be together…
“I think that it was just such a match made in heaven.
I even thought that we were going to be together, and it was so sweet, cause Miley was, I think, kinda bummed that they wrote my character out [of the show], but you know it’s a show, there is only two ways they could go with it, so I was happy for the time that I had.”
Moving On
He might not be a teen heartthrob anymore, but Cody is still very much in the acting scene.
The actor has starred in the film Forget Me Not, as well as the hit TV show Melissa & Joey.
He’s also made appearances in the likes of Sharknado 4 and Sharknado 5, which have developed a bit of a cult following!

Adam 12 Cast: Where are they now?
Cody also joined the line-up for Dancing with the Stars back in 2008, where he impressed fans with his dancing skills. He might have been the youngest ever contestant on the show, but this didn’t stop Cody from reaching the semi-finals.
Aside from his acting, Cody now also coaches up-and-coming actors through his coaching business, Acting with Cody. According to his website, he offers coaching for Acting Technique, Voice and Movement, and Improvisation to both children and adults.
Dating Life
After his time as a teen heartthrob on Hannah Montana, it’s no huge surprise that fans have been keeping tabs on Cody’s dating life. And it’s been fairly colourful over the years…
The actor was dating Nicole Gale Anderson for some years in the 2000s. They split in 2005, and Cody quickly moved on to Captain Marvel star Brie Larson after they started working on the movie Hoot. Things fizzled out between the pair shortly after filming though.
This paved the way for Cody’s most famous relationship; the Hannah Montana star started seeing fellow Disney Channel alumni Demi Lovato in 2007.

While they were only together for around a year, Cody still describes Demi as “really sweet”, so at least they’re on good terms!
After his relationship with Demi, things get a bit hazy. Cody has since kept his love life on the downlow, and it’s reported that he’s currently single.
