Jedidiah Duggar: The Man With 19 Brothers And Sisters
Not many people can say they are 1 one of 19 children, but Jedidiah Duggar can. He is famously known for being part of the show ’19 Kids and Counting’. Jedidiah and his twin brother Jermiah are the 9th and 10th children of the Duggar family.

So, who is this man? What is it like growing up with a super-sized family? And, what is the story behind the reason this family wanted 19 children?
Jedidiah Duggar: Who Is He?
Of course, he is most well known for being a part of his huge family. Jedidiah Duggar is the 10th child in his 21 person family. He is also a twin. His twin brother’s name is Jerimiah. The children of the family all have names that all start with the letter ‘J’.
Now, he has a family of his own. He is married to his wife Kate, and they are now expecting their first child together.

His career revolves around politics. Local politics is something he has always been very passionate about and encourages young people to be active in.
Jedidiah Duggar’s Vows To His Wife
Religion was something that all the children grew up with due to their parent’s worship of God.
He pledged to his wife on their wedding day:
”Katelyn Nakatsu, in the presence of God and our family and friends, I pledge to take you as my future wife. I have prepared my works without and made it fit for myself in the field and now prepare a home for us to live.”
The father to be also vowed to stay pure.
”Until that time, I pledge to sustain your good reputation by staying within the sight of others when we are together. I pledge to keep my way pure and honour you with my eyes, my mind, and my heart. I’ll protect you by having no intimate physical contact, until that day when God allows, I will come receive you as my wife.”

Where it all started for Jedidiah Duggar
Before we look at who Jedidiah Duggar is, let’s find out how and why it all started. Let’s meet the parents.
The infamous parents of this army-sized family are named Jim Bob and Michelle.
Back in 1883, Bob save up and purchased a $350 dollar ring and proposed on Christmas Eve. But, three months later her father got a job that would mean Michelle would move away.
He emotionally asked Michelle’s parents if they could marry beforehand so that they didn’t have to be apart.
So, the pair married. Michelle was 17, just graduated high school and Bob was just 19.

Starting The Family
The plan for the couple was to have two or three children. After the pair married Michelle went on birth control so that they could have children as they planned. After three years, the pair then decided it was time for a child. They then had first son Joshua.
After their first son, the pair wanted some time with their first child and Michelle went back on birth control.
But, in a shocking discovery Michelle found out she was pregnant despite this. Sadly, after 3 months, the mother of 19 miscarried.
Turning To God
In this difficult time Jedidiah’s parents turned to God and started to read the bible. After discovering that God deemed children a blessing, the pair prayed. They asked for as many children as God wanted to bless them with.
Becoming Famous And Getting A TV Show
Fast forward and the couple have around 14 chidlren. Of course, going anywhere with so many children attracts attention. And so, after being spotted by a variety of sources, the family were offered TV opportunities.

And, eventually Jedidiah Duggar’s family reached its peak they got their long lasting TV show: 19 Kids And Counting.
How do they manage day-to-day life?
The question on everyone’s mind is: how do they do it? When raising one child is hard, how can someone bring up 19 children?
The couple cleverly introduced a buddy sytem in the family. This means that one of the older kids is paired with one of the young children and they are responsible for caring duties such as clothing and feeding.

Of course, in a family of such a size as Jedidiah Duggar’s, the sole reliance is not upon the parents. In fact, the parents rely heavily on the eldest chidlren to help them. Otherwise day to day life running smoothly would not be possible.
