Durrani Popal: Who is the DASH Dolls Star really?
Durrani Popal was hurtled into the spotlight when she starred in the 2015 series DASH Dolls. Of course the Afghan beauty provided all of the reality TV drama we could want from a Kardashian franchise. But who is she really?
Durrani Popal:
The Dash Dolls star was born Durrani Aisha Popal on May 6, 1989 making her 32-years old.
Durrani was born in San Francisco, California and is a Taurus.
She is an American reality TV star best known for her role in the 2015 reality TV series ‘Dash Dolls’, a spin-off of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’.
However, before she launched into the spotlight, Durrani was out getting herself an education.
The star graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and got her position at Dash shortly after.
This is thought to be where she got her passion for clothes and jewelry.
Durrani is the merchandising manager at the Kardashian sisters’ boutique Dash, and her famous connections with the Kardashians has definitely helped her make a name for herself.
Her Jewelry designs “Jewels By Durrani” are in fact sold at DASH stores and online.
Her designs show Middle Eastern influences, and her best jewelry piece is the “Arabic Name Necklace”.
Besides this, Durrani is a successful influencer and boasts more than 700k followers on the photo app.
TV roles:
In 2014 Durrani appeared on the series, ‘Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons’.
But, one of her most memorable TV moments was in Dash Dolls, when she received the extravagant gift of a pink Bentley from her boyfriend Shalom.
The luxury car has a value of $200,000 and the clip sees Durrani naturally looking thrilled to receive it.
Relationship with the Kardashians:
Although Durrani oozes Kardashian glamour, all signs point to her having a purely professional relationship with the Kardashian Jenner clan.
Durrani is not often seen with the famous family outside of work or filming, in fact the only photos of Durrani and the Kardashian clan feature on Durrani’s Instagram, taken after various DASH retreats.
Family and dating:
Durrani Popal is of Afghan decent and is from a strict background when it comes to dating.
This became all too clear in the season finale of DASH Dolls when Durrani introduced her brother, Abdullah, to her boyfriend, Shalom.
She started dating Shalom Yeroushalmi after they met at the Beverly Hills gas station for the first time.
He asked her out and they had the instant connection.
Despite their religious differences they started dating.
However, it quickly became clear the reality star’s brother Abdullah was strictly against their relationship.
The episode saw the two almost come to blows as their religious differences, along with Abdullah’s will to protect his big sister almost got too much.
A clip of the episode seed Abdullah lay down the law as Shalom desperately tried to prove himself worth of Durrani’s affection.
He said: “It’s still a shock for me, I’ve never seen my sister with a boyfriend, first of all. If this was a couple years back, you know, I’d just beat the s–t out of you.”
Whoa!
All signs point to Durrani’s parents being just as strict too as Abdullah questioned how they would react to the news of her and Shalom’s relationship.
He seemed to think they would stop talking to their daughter over her new love interest, sparking an emotional reaction from Durrani.
“They’ll probably freak out at first,” Durrani said
To which her brother responded: ”They’re going to disown you. You know what the consequences are, right?”
Things clearly got emotional from there as Durrani put her head in her hands with teary eyes.
Durrani and Shalom broke up later on that same year due to their religious differences.
Durrani Popal’s Childhood:
It seems Abdullah and Durrani have always had an explosive relationship even as kids!
Durrani once posted a throwback snap on Instagram of both of them for Abdullah’s birthday.
She wrote: “Verified
Happy birthday to my brother. I remember the day my brother was born. I was given a rose that was a present from my brother lol but when I saw him I was so upset & jealous that I took the Rose and stabbed my eye with it and ran off screaming”
Motherhood:
Durrani’s private life off screen remains very well protected.
However, we do know that she is now a mom!
Durrani regularly displays pictures of her adorable son Kareem on Instagram with “Kareem’s Mommy” proudly plastered in her bio.
We don’t know much about her relationship with Kareem’s dad.
However, she has publicly thanked him for being such a good dad.
During thanksgiving the DASH star put out a post captioned: “Verified
Happy thanksgiving. So grateful for this drooling little bundle of joy & for the guy on the right for being such an amazing father!”
The picture showed the three of them in front of a beautiful sunset view dripping in designer clothes.
