Stephanie Lowe: Who’s The Woman Phil Scofield Is Divorcing?
Until the news broke that Phillip Schofield was divorcing his wife after coming out as gay, we didn’t really know much about Stephanie Lowe.
When Did They Get Married?
Stephanie Lowe, 55, and Phil have been married for 26 years (1993) and they live in Henley-on-Thames.
The couple met when Stephanie worked for the BBC as a production assistant. Although Stephanie likes to keep a low profile and has now left the TV industry, in 2017, she took up the opportunity to join Phillip to South Africa, where they filmed an adventure documentary together.
Phillip and Stephanie have two daughters, Molly, 26, and Ruby, 23.
Phillip’s Previous Comments On His Marriage…
Phillip has spoken openly about the love he shares for his wife. In 2018, they celebrated 25 years of marriage and the presenter marked it with an Instagram post:
He wrote: “2 birthdays and a Silver Wedding Anniversary in one week! That’s a lot of cards. Happy 25th Mrs S.”
He’s also previously opened up about Stephanie’s work:
“She worked in television years ago, that was how we met, so she can do it, she just doesn’t want to these days…
“She will only film with me and got more into it as we went along.”
What’s The Latest On The Divorce?
The pair have revealed that they aren’t planning to divorce until they have both properly moved on.
After Phillip came out as gay, the couple have continued to live together in their £2.5million family home in Oxfordshire.
It’s only recently that they’ve started discussing the divorce, but Phil has said that he wants to make sure Stephanie is looked after when they part ways.
On his family, Phil has admitted:
“My family have held me so close: they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion.”Â
