Entering The Acting World When She Was Just Eight Years Old…

Georgina first appeared in Les Misérables on stage as Little Cosette when she was eight years old. Later, she played Molly in The Basil Brush Show in 2002 and appeared in every episode of Series 1-4 when she was 12 years old.

And, it didn’t stop there! In 2007, she starred as a guest in BBC TV series Holby City playing Ali Jarvis.

Year 2007 may have been a very good year for Georgina as she got cast as Katie Bell in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as a Quidditch player of the Gryffindor House. She also appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 2) in 2010 and 2011.

“I know you’re going to ask me Harry, but I don’t know who cursed me. I’ve been trying to remember, honestly. But I just can’t.”

Fun Fact: She also voiced Katie Bell in the video game version!

Remarkably, Georgina has starred in short films such as Baghdad Express, Untouchable and Driftwood (alongside Isabella Laughland). Her theatrical ventures include The Real Thing, That Face, Black Coffee, Small Hours and Beauty and the Beast at the Theatre Royal in Windsor.

On a more interesting note, she also worked with her fellow Harry Potter co-star Jessie Cave for her website videos.

She Speaks Very Fondly Of Her First Theatre Experience

A year ago today was our first day of rehearsals for @_AwfulAuntie ! Here we are reading the script together for the first time. Now we’ve done over 300 shows! Feeling very proud of the team! @birminghamstage pic.twitter.com/az4waRhOr1

“I remember so clearly going to the theatre, sitting in those big red chairs and being completely blown away. It was incredible and even at a young age, I was so moved by the production. The set, the performances, the music! I doubt I’ll forget it.”

It is definitely an experience in itself but do you know that Georgina found her passion and realised that the theatre was her calling after this particular experience.

Someone Once Advised Her To Listen!

Obviously, this piece of advice had worked like a charm as Katie made her way up in the world of theatre.

    Here goes the advice:

“Listen. Listen to everyone that will help guide you and your performance and the show; the director, fellow cast members, yourself and your own instincts.”

Apparently, working together and listening to each other is extremely crucial during rehearsal and performance.

Highlighting that it is equally important to listen to the technical aspects of theatre, Georgina proves that she is indeed enthusiastic about theatre.

She Loves Katie Bell, Debbie And Molly The Most!

To be clear, Katie Bell is her role in Harry Potter, Debbie is from The Real Thing and Molly is from The Basil Brush Show.

“I played Katie Bell in Harry Potter and that was loads of fun and an incredible experience. It was wonderful to be a part of the biggest British film franchise.

“My role Debbie, in Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing. It was my first theatre role. I loved the character, she is witty and confident and I enjoyed playing her very much. Being in a play had always been a goal for me so when I got the job I was over the moon.

“Molly in Basil Brush. It was my first leading role in a series. I not only had an amazing time but I learnt such a lot!”

She Played Stella Saxby In Awful Auntie

Awful Auntie is a play adapted from David Walliams’ children’s book and it took place in December 2018 at Bloomsbury Theatre.

Fun Fact: David Walliams is a television comedian and a judge on Britain’s Got Talent alongside Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden.

Having played Stella Saxby, Georgina talks fondly of her role.

“The play is great fun for the whole family. We’ve had lovely feedback from parents to say they enjoyed the show just as much as their children.”

“I think the characters and storylines lend themselves so well to stage. Some characters are larger than life, and so having them on stage in a theatrical setting works so well. With Awful Auntie you have this amazing set too.”

“I think Birmingham Stage has an incredibly talented creative team who also have to take credit for the show’s success as they have really captured the essence of the book and bought Saxby hall alive. The music is one of my favourite things about the show.”
