Marnie Simpson Baby: Her Traumatic Labor

Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson has been under the spotlight since she first appeared on the show in 2013 as well as in Celebrity Big Brother and Ex on the Beach. She also appeared with Gary Beadle, Holly Hagan, and Aaron Chalmers in Geordie Shore OG last year.

From a waiter back then to owning her own brand of contact ranges called I Spy Eyes, Marnie has come a long way. Recently, she gave birth to baby Rox with her boyfriend Casey Johnson.

While she loves her beautiful baby boy, her labor wasn’t exactly pleasant. In fact, Marnie suffered a great deal and called it a traumatic experience. More about Marnie Simpson baby and her labor experience…

Marnie announced that she was pregnant in April 2019 and delivered baby Rox on 29th of October, 2019.

Two weeks later, the couple shared the name of their baby. Apparently, they had a lot of discussion before choosing a name they were both happy about. Looks like Marnie got a little creative and suggested unusual names.

Casey even had to put his foot down when she went a tad too far with the middle name.

“Marnie wanted his middle name to be Star but I had to put my foot down! I thought it was silly. He would have had the p**s taken out of him at school.”

Casey certainly did the right thing and little baby Rox owes him big time just for saving him from a middle name saga.

Amazingly, Marnie has come forward without any apprehension to share the details about her 28 hours of labor. Describing it to be traumatic, Marnie is determined to get her story out there!

In her Instagram post, she shared,

“Excuse the state of me, I’m really not glamorous at the moment! But just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has shown support for me, Casey & baby Rox.

“We are overwhelmed with the love you have all shown, everyone is aware I haven’t been active on Instagram lately, mostly because it’s taken me a really long time to recover from the birth.”

Unfortunately, Marnie had to deal with an extremely hard birth and labour. She lost two pints of blood and had two blood transfusions. Hence, it took her a while to feel normal again.

“Rox is such a beautiful, healthy baby and that’s the main thing! I still can’t believe how I’ve managed to make such a perfect little boy, he amazes me!”

Marnie Doesn’t Know How One Can Forget Their Pains Of Labor…

Her labor was so painful that she had decided to never give birth naturally again. While she certainly wants more babies with Casey, she is clear that natural birth would not be the way.

She said she would opt for a c-section since her first birth experience traumatised her.

Marnie was flabbergasted when asked about forgetting the pain upon seeing the face of her baby.

She claimed it to be a very false notion. Unfortunately, Marnie had not forgotten and will never forget her painful labor. It was an indescribable pain for her.

It Didn’t End There…Marnie Had More To Suffer From!

After giving birth, Marnie has been suffering from chronic UTI. She had normal UTI before it became chronic after the delivery.

Apparently, chronic UTIs are hard to get rid of as they are protected from the immune system and against antibiotics.

    Marnie didn’t have any choice.

“The only way to really get rid of it, it takes a long time, but over time if I’m eating well and sleeping well, my immune system will attack the bugs that caused the UTI as they shed from my bladder wall.”

Marnie had lost a lot of weight postpartum but it is not something to celebrate about. Her weight loss is mostly due to her UTI. As a method of treatment, Marnie had to cut out sugar.

“I couldn’t eat anything with sugar in, and everything’s got sugar in. My doctor was like: ‘Look, you’ve had no immune and antibiotics aren’t really the best thing to…’“

“They kill your immune system. They get rid of all the good bacteria.

“The best thing about fighting this is your own immune. So, your immune system needs to be the best it can be.

“So she told me to cut out all sugar, drink loads of water, eat loads of fruit, eat loads of greens – which I’ve never done in my life.”

Just like all new parents, Marnie Simpson and Casey Johnson had to face an extended period of sleep deprivation. Baby Rox had them awake and on their toes at all times! Especially Marnie who would wake up at Rox’s slightest movement while Casey sleeps on.

“I literally struggle to fall asleep even if Rox is asleep. So if he like stirs or makes noise I literally just wake up and then I’m just awake and I can’t…

“It’s weird, I kept on waking Casey up and I was going ‘Casey, Casey he’s awake’ and he was like ‘no, he’s not’ and I was doing it all night long.

“And Casey was like ‘Marnie you just need to sleep, he’s not awake, he’s just stirring.’”

Marnie has no qualms sharing stories and pictures of baby Rox on her social media profiles. She also had no issues showing her gratitude to Casey for being a thoughtful partner.

“Casey has been amazing, having to look after me and Rox at the age of 24, taking me to countless doctors appointments, constantly telling me I’ll be OK when I’m in pain and crying, keeping me positive even when I think the worse!

“And still helping me look after Rox, honestly he’s a superhero and keeps me going every day.”
