The firefighter split from the 21-year-old star after meeting Joanna Chimondes in Casa Amor and he has now admitted to his fellow islanders that he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend.

He told them: “Now that Joanna has gone, it has given me time to think about things. I’m not saying I don’t like Joanna, because I do. But I feel like because Joanna was there I actively avoided Amber.”

Jordan said: “I think if you did go back there, things would be so different.”

Michael apologised to Amber after he demanded she “sit down” before a chat and said he was “taking out his frustration” on her.

Michael says: “When I came over and told you to sit down, it was because you had been wearing heels all night and I didn’t want you to walk anywhere else. I am apologising if it came across in a bad way.”

Amber replies: “I just think you really need to think about the way you speak to me, because it comes across really badly. I knew you before and you never spoke to me in a way that made me feel upset.”

Michael responds: “I don’t actually want to hurt you and I never have. Right now, it seems that I take all of my frustration out on you.”

Michael’s frustration came after Joanna was booted off ‘Love Island’.

She said: “Part of me expected Michael to leave with me, however I don’t want to be in control of someone’s life journey and if he wants to continue in the villa, to get to know someone else or see where things go, I’ve got respect for that. It is a bit disappointing but I’d never hold that against him. I am a bit in limbo about how I’m feeling about Michael. We got along well and had lots in common and laughed together but for me I need to put it on pause and then we can see what happens when he leaves the villa.”
