6. Aragog Was REALLY That Big

Rationally, we know it’s not real but it’s still terrifying. At first, the designers planned to computer-animate Aragog but changed their minds and decided to create a life-size scale version of the creature.

It was mechanically manipulated by computers and puppeteers and even had a voice-activated system in its mouth so actors could act in real time with him. Amazing, right? Definitely doesn’t make the hairs on the back of our necks stand up…
