1. Matthew Perry – partially severed middle finger

Even the stars of Friends have their little quirks. Here, we look at Matthew Perry, aka Chandler.

It might not appear obvious, but Matthew Perry is missing part of his little finger.

It all apparently occurred as the result of an accident, back when Perry was much younger.

It should look longer than the others

His grandad accidentally shut a car door on Perry’s hand when he was little. Ouch.

He must have felt so guilty. The accident meant that Perry lost part of his finger.

It’s noticeably shorter

Ironically, in Friends, he misses part of his little pinky when Monica drops a knife on it by accident.

To most of us, the thought of living your life literally ATTACHED to someone else, is a mind- blowing concept. How do you sleep? How do you go to the toilet? What if you don’t get along?

It might happen very rarely (about one in every 200,000), but it happens; when two identical babies become joined in the womb, so are then born as conjoined (AKA Siamese) twins.

It’s often the case that the babies are still born, or even if they do survive birth they rarely live beyond 24 hours. Only about 1% of all conjoined twins survive more than a day after they’re born.

So knowing this, makes the story of conjoined twins Abbey and Brittany Hensel even more exceptional. They’re both (obviously) now 30 and doing better than ever!

Have a look through a timeline of their extraordinary lives and see how they’ve navigated through life with each other right by their side…

BORN- 7th March 1990

The twins’ parents Patty and Mike Hensel had no idea they were about to welcome twins, never mind 1 in 200,000 twins! Shortly after the bombshell, the choice was given to the parents to separate the girls. Low survival rates in one or both surgeries meant they quickly made their decision to keep the girls together.

If the girls weren’t already special enough, the news came that they were actually ‘dicephalus’ twins, meaning they shared a torso and lower body but had their own heads! From that the ‘one body, two souls’ label was born…

“I want the world to see Abby and Brittany as two individuals, that have the same hopes and fears as any child their age.”- Patty Hensel
