6. Jenny Hanley (Briddy Middleton in Emmerdale) – THEN
Briddy Middleton might have been a minor character on Emmerdale Farm as it was then known, but can any of us honestly say that we’ve forgotten about her? Didn’t think so! The character worked as a stable hand on her father Dan Middleton’s farm for a year before leaving the town.
Jenny Hanley’s career kicked off after she was spotted on the soap and in 1980 she was hired as a co-presenter for Saturday Night at the Mill which proved to be a huge hit with viewers!
Hanley has also worked as a radio presenter for BBC Radio Berkshire and Radio SAGA where she was tasked with selecting music and interviewing guest but to date she is most memorable for being one of the presenters of the ITV children’s magazine programme Magpie!
