4. Pete Becker (Jon Favreau) – THEN

Wow, a millionaire. Sign me up…  Pete ended up falling in love with Monica first, but she wasn’t so keen initially. To sweeten her up, Pete decided to buy a restaurant and ask Monica to be head chef. She was worried initially that he still had feelings for her (and of course he did), so she wanted to quit until they stole a kiss. After they decided to date properly, Monica was living the life and loving her boyfriend. He seemed pretty much perfect – even the gang gave the thumbs up.

But it wasn’t meant to be: Pete decided that, having conquered the business world, he wanted to widen his horizons and “conquer the physical world” (that is, become the Ultimate Fighting Champion). It worried Monica too much to see him fight and get hurt, so she ended the relationship.

And of course Jon Favreau is all too familiar these days… MCU fanatics will recognize him as Tony Stark’s loyal chauffeur, security guard and just all around buddy, Happy Hogan. He’s also tried his hand at directing and producing under his own banner, Fairview Entertainment.
