Climate change and global warming: two phrases we are all too familiar with.

Yep, celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio are making it their main focus to promote awareness of issues such as climate change, with images and comments littered across their social media pages. Leo even used his Oscar acceptance speech as a platform to highlight the issues of climate change (what a hero).

And for good reason.

The world as we know it is changing – at an alarming rate. Whether you’re up to speed or not on how exactly our environment and world is being affected, it’s a subject that everybody needs to be aware of.

It’s easy to reel off a bunch of statistics, facts and figures, but nothing speaks louder than an image. So take a look.

Aletsch Glacier, The Alps – BEFORE

The Alps: home to the stunning Mont Blanc; breath-taking landscape; and, of course, a load of boozy Europeans trying their hand at skiing.

But did you know that the largest glacier in the extensive mountain range is melting at an alarming rate, right before our very eyes? It’s losing nearly 40 feet of ice per year – by the end of the century, it could be gone completely…

It’s not the only glacier to be retreating, but it’s demonstrates shocking statistics – during a time frame of around 150 years, the Aletsch has shrunk by around 60%.

In a bid to spread awareness about global warming and climate change, a giant postcard – measuring 2,500 square meters – was created out of messages from young people around the world.

The main message: Help the environment and fight climate change.
