2. Michael Jordan – THEN

For some more modern-day basketball fans, LeBron James or Steph Curry may be viewed as the all-time greatest baller in the history of the sport. But for those of us with longer memories, the one and only greatest ever is always, always, always Michael Jordan.

Seriously, Jordan has an utterly ridiculous amount of awards and achievements to his name, with both the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat retiring his iconic number 23 jersey.

After a few false finishes and restarts, MJ would finally hang it up for good in 2003.

These days, the 56-year-old Jordan is revered for his charity work and is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets. And with a Space Jam 2 confirmed to be in development, what’s to say that basketball’s favourite son won’t be making a cameo in that sequel?
