Things You Didn’t Know About I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

If you had a baby during the first series of I’m a Celeb, it would be prepping for its GCSEs right now

This is one long running show. It’s been on our screens longer than Sirius was in Azkaban.

    15. It’s a timeless classic in more ways than one

There’s a certain timeless quality to watching someone get submerged in cockroaches, or bitten by angry ants, and perhaps this is what’s bestowed such long lived success on I’m a Celeb.

But the show is timeless is another way too, in that contestants aren’t allowed to know what hour of the day it is. Just like on ‘Love Island’, there are no clocks and no phones. Ant and Dec even cover up their watches when they talk to the campers, so they can’t get a sneaky glimpse.

    14. Nobody’s gonna rain on their parade, because there’s a canopy preventing it

All the rain on the shower is real, but there’s a system of canopies suspended about fifty feet above the camp to stop them getting too drenched.

Anyone who’s spent a half term on a rainy camping trip, desperately trying to keep a sad campfire burning in the face of persistent drizzle, will forgive them this.

    13. There have been a whopping 182 episodes of the UK version so far

Look at their adorable mutual excitement. I’m a Celeb isn’t currently available to stream online, but imagine the 182 episode binge. One day.
