The ‘Love Island’ star took to Twitter to inform fans that despite having the “experience of a lifetime” on the ITV2 reality show, this week he will be going back to his day job inA&E because he “trained for years” and wants to get back to doing what he loves.

    He wrote:

“Love Island was the experience of a lifetime, but ever since I left the villa I’ve genuinely missed working for the NHS.

“That’s why this week I’m going back to A&E. I trained for years for the opportunity to help people, and I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love. (sic)”

Fans were quick to show their support for Alex’s decision, and the star has been “blown away” with the support he has received.

    One user wrote:

“I’m a health care support worker for the NHS, such a proud job Very glad you’re getting back into it! Welcome back.” (sic)

    Alex tweeted:

“Absolutely blown away with the support from everyone. The love and resounding positivity shown towards the NHS is incredible. We must save it (sic)”

While the A&E doc is returning to work on hospital frontline, he has vowed to use his platform to raise awareness of health issues among young people and hopes he’ll be able to show what life is truly like working for the NHS.

Sharing a screenshot of his tweet, he wrote:

“I’ll be using my platform to raise awareness around health issues among young people.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to give you a bit of insight into what it’s like on the front lines of the NHS. I hope you all continue this incredible journey with me. Here we go! (sic)”
