It has been revealed that the contestants only get a limited access to alcohol whilst on the show.

Apparently they are allowed the occasional glass of wine of a night but nothing more.

Presumably it is because the challenges can have very early starts, but the producers cannot tell them that; so they need to be ready at all times.
