It’s far from her most notable achievement, but as a young woman she was an absolute spice- indeed she was considered a sex symbol after some smouldering work on screen.

Later, she moved on to comedy work, television appearances and finally a critically acclaimed directing career. Her first short film won her a Silver Lion at the Venice International Film Festival, as well as a BAFTA nomination.

‘The Witches’ boasts some impressive accolades and nominations of its own, including a slew of acknowledgements at the 1991 Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.
