18. The two killer nurses in Roanoke were real too!
The craziest thing about Roanoke’s killer nurses, is that they had real life counterparts in Cathy Wood and Gwendolyn Graham.

At Alpine Manor nursing home in the late 1980s, Wood and Graham murdered five elderly patients whilst working as nurse’s aides.

Wood and Graham met at Alpine Manor and became friends before being lovers. Preying on already vulnerable elderly patients, the pair killed in order to “relieve their tension”.

It is argued that they committed these murders as a “love bond”, hoping that the secret of their crimes would keep them together. Kind of dysfunctional if you ask me.
