Playing ‘The Butler Without a Tongue’ in Coven, Denis O’Hare decided to stay in character and refused to speak even when the cameras weren’t rolling.

Heath Ledger also stayed in character during the filming of The Dark Knight
O’Hare did a brilliant job, and even though he didn’t say a word during his scenes, still managed to encapsulate viewers.

He was so committed to his silence, that he had to rely on gestures when communicating with the directors in between takes.
