13. Ryan Murphy consulted with Jessica Lange about other characters
After becoming such good friends during season 1, Murphy encouraged Lange to speak up about potential directions to take certain characters in.

Most notably, in Coven, Lange wanted to play an elegant, luxurious women, and as such the character of Fiona Goode was draped in expensive clothing.

The respect between the Murphy and Lange was clearly so great, that he trusted her to be one of the most influential people on set.

Just for American Horror Story, Lange won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, and the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie. Not bad, eh?
