Heirs to the thrones were usually always born at home with no one but the midwives and doctor in the room.

However, Prince William was the first future monarch to be born in a hospital. Both William and Harry were born on the Lido Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Kate Middleton followed suit and has given birth to all three of her children in the same wing.
