1. Beaded Necklace.
Whenever I look at a beaded necklace, I automatically think of Madonna.
2. Cherry Brooch.
We used to put these on our blazers and they had matching cherry bobbles to go in our hair too!
3. Charm Necklace.
Remind me again why we ever walked around with one of these around our necks?
4. Avon heart pendant.
Does anyone else remember this necklace, loads of people seemed to have it! But then again, a lot of people had the same thing, because a lot of us used to use the Avon catalogue.
5. Chunky Clip In Earrings.
Chunky clip in earrings always remind me of my mum and aunties, they used to wear them all the time, with big matching chunky necklaces
6. Chokers.
These seem to have come back in fashion every decade….but I wish they hadn’t!
7. Mesh Neon Earrings.
They looked nice, but try getting your hair stuck in between the mesh bit of these earrings…what a pain in the arse that was.
8. Neon Bracelets.
They looked good on, until most of them snapped and you ended up with just one left on your arm at the end of the night.
9. Plastic Rings.
Tacky but cheap and bright…that’s all you needed to brighten up your already ridiculously bright outfit.
10. Swatch/Casio Watches.
These watches were everywhere! And the Casio calculator watches were big too!
11. ‘Gold’ Bracelets.
Most of them were made of plastic, most of them looked like they were out of a vending machine or something. Just horrible metal painted gold to look nice. What didn’t look nice was the green mark they used to leave round your wrist after wearing one.
12. Sovereign Rings.
I cringe just looking at these rings. My brother got a big one for his birthday one year, he wouldn’t take it off for years for some reason….
13. Rosary Beads.
I think Madonna was one of the first people to start this trend off, you didn’t have to be holy to walk around with a load of these around your neck in the 80s!
14. Gold Studs.
Probably the least cringeworthy items of jewellery from the 1980s.
15. Tee Shirt Clips.
They weren’t exactly jewellery, but we used them to tie or tops up and make them into crop tops sort of.
