I used to have more than a soft spot for crisps when I was at school. There were just so many good varieties out there and most of them went well with my ham sandwich that I swallowed whole every dinner time. Here are 16 that I remember from when I was young.
1. Salt n Shake
Ready salted crisps that you put the salt on yourself. God only knows why it worked but it did and these were huge. Delicious too!
2. Frazzles
We all love crisps. We all love bacon. Bacon crisps – genius!
3. Wotsits
Cheesy brilliance. But remember the different variations? Flamin’ Hot for one, Prawn was another. They all left the same orange residue and tasted just as good
4. Skips
Lunchbox essentials. Not really known for their difference flavours, but they melted in your mouth and I couldn’t be without them as a child
5. Discos
So much flavour! Salt and vinegar, cheese and onion and ready salted – all the classics. Salt and vinegar were that strong they burnt your tongue
6. Walkers – Salt and Lineker
Before Gary Lineker was the face of Walkers, he managed to face on them in a master marketing stroke by the company. Can you remember the other two players that accompanied him?
7. Cheese and Owen
Michael Owen was one – the extremely boring former Liverpool and Man United striker made it onto their most popular flavour
8. Lamb Mint
I wasn’t a major fan of these.
9. Walkers BBQ Rib
Remember when these came out? Delightful.
10. Chipsticks
Salt and Vinegar fingers – tangy and also very moreish
11. Pombears
Everyone’s favourite lunch box crisps. Didn’t really taste of anything, but they were still tasty as hell
12. Nik Naks

13. Walkers Baked Bean
Bizarre choice, but very tasty.
