We have compiled a shocking list of 10 of the most dangerous roads in the world… and we can assure you, driving on these roads would certainly not be relaxing!

1. Zoji La, India

This road lasts a terrifying 9km for anyone who wishes to travel between the Indian villages of Ladakh and Kashmir. With barely enough space to fit a bicycle, the road is shared with lorries, wagons, cars and even livestock. These cattle really do live life on the edge!

2. Transfăgărășan, Romania

In the Carpathian Mountains, this road is Romania’s tallest, reaching over 2034 metres. The stunning views of Lake Balea at the top of this mountain highway makes the long drive up almost worth it.

3. Dalton Highway, Alaska

This road is not only the most remote highway in the world but also the snowiest. It connects 3 villages and stretches across 666km. If you are ever unfortunate enough to drive on this road, we pray you don’t break down! Something tells us you’d be waiting a LONG time for the AA!

6. Atlantic Ocean Road, Norway

The Atlantic Ocean Road, aptly named as it appears to be part of the sea, was built in 1980. The road connects a few Norwegian villages and although only spans for 5 miles, its breathtaking views make it a photographer’s dream! The road is rightly recognised as one of the world’s ‘cultural heritage sites’!

7. Guoliang Tunnel, China

This tunnel was made by literally cutting into a mountain to ensure local villages were exposed to and could easily access their neighbour villages. Just don’t drive too close to the edge!
