11 Pairs Of Shoes We ALL Had In The 70s And 80s

We've all made some interesting fashion choices in the past, we all look back on photographs that were taken of us when we were younger and just cringe. Why on earth did our parents let us go out looking like that?! We will never full understand our questionable fashion statements - from our hair accessories to our RaRa skirts... at least we can see the funny side now. We genuinely thought that we looked amazing, didn't we? I think we always tried to model our fashion on the huge celebs out there, whilst still on our lemonade budget. But, nothing quite compares to the shoes we had in the 70s and 80s! You usually decided to base your outfit around the different pairs of shoes that you used to own. Whether it was our school shoes or our disco shoes - we were more than willing to splash the cash!

See if you can spot any of your cringeworthy shoes from the past! This will definitely take you on a trip down memory lane!

1. Gold Stilettos

These were never a good look. I think the worst part was that we actually couldn't walk around in these. Did anyone else used to try on their mum's heels when we weren't old enough to wear them? I used to potter around the house in these heels that were about five sizes too big for me! It was such a milestone in our teenage years when we went out and bought our first pair of heels!

2. Jelly Shoes

Not sure why these were ever a thing, but every single person was completely obsessed with wearing them. These had to be one of the most uncomfortable pairs of shoes to ever exist. They used to make your feet sweat so much and the amount of blisters they used to cause was disastrous! Did anyone actually enjoy wearing these?

3. Kickers

Everybody had at least one pair of Kickers. They were a pair of shoes that were ridiculously in at one point. I think we were all willing to invest in a pair of these because they used to last a lifetime!

4. Espadrilles

Yes we were super trendy and had these back in the 70s! These were absolutely perfect for those summer months where you didn't want to wear huge shoes. The best part of these was that they were really cheap so you could get them in so many different colours. I remember I had about four different pairs of these - I just couldn't get enough. They're coming back into fashion now!

5. Go Go boots

Can we all remember the days of wearing these?! Looking back, we can all agree that they are completely outrageous - but that didn't stop us wearing them as much as we could when we were younger. Which colour did you have? I remember going all out and getting a white pair of these.. no regrets because I felt so sassy in a pair of these! Happy memories!

6. Clogs

Why on earth did we think that clogs were an okay pair of shoes to wear when we were younger? There was nothing nice about these shoes. First of all they were ridiculously heavy and people could hear you coming from a mile off. Not only this, but they just weren't comfortable at ALL. Yet, we were so willing to splash the cash on these when they came into fashion.

7. Dr Scholl's Sandals

These were like a mini version of clogs but they were a lot more summery. We used to love treating ourselves to a pair of these when Summer came around.. they used to last for ages!

8. Platforms

How we didn't break our neck in these is beyond me. These were possibly the most ridiculous pair of shoes we used to own when we were younger. These were reasonably easy to walk in because of the platform on the front, but a full day in these was enough to pain us all!

9. Cut out heels

What could possibly be the purpose of having a hole in the heels of your shoes?! We don't know either... but we absolutely LOVED wearing these shoes back in the day!

10. Leather Mules

Feeling like a teacher wearing these bad boys... I think that every single girl owned a pair of these back in the day!

11. Moccasins

We didn't buy these because they were glamorous, instead we bought these because they were a comfy pair of shoes that lasted for ages. If we needed something we could easily walk around in, then these were your go to pair of shoes.
