A lot of our lives are sort of needlessly run by differences between ourselves and those around us. I don’t know if we’ll ever manage to scrub these from our collective psyche and really end up living as one, but perhaps I’m just being pessimistic.
We sort of see children as putting up much worse barriers, but you have to admit that when you look at a post-truth politics world that has elected Donald Trump to the position of president while removing the UK from the EU. It’s as if we’re clamouring to put up barriers and disconnect us all as much as physically possible.
