5. Pulling Christmas Crackers
Speaking of Christmas crackers, I cannot believe that this isn’t a tradition in every country across the world! There’s nothing more exciting than winning a Christmas cracked and finding out you now have a tiny set of compasses.
Seriously, who chooses the gifts in these things? It’s ridiculous.
6. Having Obscure Celebrities Turn On The Christmas Lights
Right, I can actually see why this one would seem really weird to people from different parts of the world.
Basically, we get B-list celebrities, at best, to come into our towns and cities, pushing a button which then turns the Christmas lights on throughout that town or city. I know, it sounds almost medieval when you lay it out like that, but people go crazy for it!
7. Sitting Through Pantomimes
I haven’t been to one of these since I was a child, but if you want a chance to go see a celebrity languishing in the slow death of his career, then you should look no further than a pantomime.
“HE’S BEHIND YOU!” Odd how those three little words have become so iconic in this country that everyone would know what you were referencing if you shouted it.
8. Tea. Just, Tea.
I feel bad for everyone in the who doesn’t drink tea on a regular basis like we do, but on Christmas day, it’s extra sad. I mean, what is better than sitting down with a sugary treat and a cup of tea, getting warm by the fire.
Be right back, I’m just going to stick the kettle on.
