5. The Movies
Every movie feels like a cash in now, but the 80’s created some of the all time classic Christmas movies! I can remember even going to see Christmas film in the cinema if we had the money.
Nowadays, you couldn’t pay me to go sit in a cinema and watch these poor excuses for festive fun!
6. Spending Our Christmas In The Snow
This is really going to come across as an oldie looking to the past through rose tinted glasses, but it definitely snowed in December more a few decades ago.
I don’t know if it’s nostalgia or global warming, but I swear my Christmas memories all have a snow covered tinge to them, whereas kids these days are lucky to get a bit of rain on Christmas, never mind some snow!
7. TV Christmas Specials
Why don’t they do these anymore? Okay, maybe they do have the odd one, but they’re mostly reruns. When I was a kid, pretty much every cartoon and television show had a Christmas special, at least every couple of years!
My all time fave was the Blackadder Christmas special! That’s still hilarious to this day.
8. Okay, Maybe Not Beanie Babies, But Definitely Better Teddies!
I do have fond memories of Beanie Babies, but I think they were more of a 90s thing to be honest. That being said, Teddies back then were just nicer! They were made from better materials.
In our day, you could carry a Teddy around with you for years and it wouldn’t see so much as a loss of stitching. They were made to last!
