The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Jeffersons and The Brady Bunch Hour – I loved these programs and they have certainly left a gap in my TV viewing. There are lots of things I miss from growing up. Here are some examples of “gone but never forgotten” memories!
1 Three Little Kittens
It’s one of those books that screams “nostalgia”! What books do you remember reading when you were a little kid?It always seemed so much fun when you were little and the teacher made you read out in class.
I can remember reading this book over and over again growing up, but no, it just seems more of a chore than anything. I can’t concentrate on a book for longer than half an hour. Maybe I should start reading kids books again!
2 Arcade Games
The thought of going to the Arcade was so exciting! We actually had things to keep us busy on a Friday and Saturday night with our friends, even if we had no money to go on the machines, it was always still a fun place to hang out with your friends.
We could sit and pretend to be playing on the games and still have fun. I used to love playing air hockey, did anyone used to play on that when they were younger? I never won, but it was always FUN!
3 Electronic Basketball
This was hi-tech and a much wanted game, looking at it now though, it looks like a relic from hundreds of years ago. Technology like this was only just introduced to us when we were growing up. Kids these days would laugh at something like this, but they’ll never know how much fun we had playing on games like this.
Do you remember how popular the Atari games console was when that first came out? Kids were begging their parents for it for Christmas and whoever was lucky enough to get one would always be the kid who had everyone round at theirs.
