The 70s was big and bold and the 80s was flowery and chintzy. You will be forgiven for thinking I’m describing what was in my wardrobe – I’m talking wallpaper, carpets, curtains and tablecloths, to name but a few. We had some very interesting furniture and furnishings back in the day, some of the patterns being enough to give you a migraine!

Did you use some coloured sheets and a washing airer and chair to make a den!
We were easily pleased in those days but it was actually good fun, eating biscuits under there!

Mum was always timing my phone calls and threatening to get a payphone if I talked for much longer!
